Responsible product manager leading a team with a regional newspaper and a startup in Germany. Building a hybrid of a local social network and a local news site. Fulbright alumnus with various experience in digital journalism, working on the intersections of product, editorial, business and technology to find answers that help leading our newspaper group in a sustainable digital future.

Professional Experience

Product Manager Lokalportal.de (OWL-Digital GmbH & Co. KG), since 01/2016
Lokalportal is a participatory platform that provides access to local life. Its mission is to strengthen neighborhoods by giving them access to reliable local information and a place for valuable exchange. At OWL-Digital as part of Neue Westfälische Media Group my work consists of:

    • Responsibility for Lokalportal.de in Ostwestfalen, leading a team of four
    • Product and strategy with Lokalportal and its implementation within Neue Westfälische, based on a shared value proposition
    • Development of the content strategy, execution with own team and local newsrooms
    • Planning, coordination and controlling of marketing activities
    • Development of the monetization strategy and coordination of its execution with the advertising department of Neue Westfälische and Lokalportal
    • Development of paid content story formats for NW.de
